The Great Minds Gala recognizes LeadingAge members and individuals for positively impacting the support of those with Alzheimer’s disease and their care partners. The gala is a fundraising event held in conjunction with the spring PEAK Leadership Summit.
Over 13 years ago, this extraordinary event was established in Washington, DC by the late Ellen Proxmire. Ellen had worked with Integrace and the Integrace Institute at Copper Ridge to raise awareness and funds to improve Alzheimer’s care. Her passion for this cause was personal as her husband, the late Senator William Proxmire of Wisconsin, battled Alzheimer’s disease for over ten years.
LeadingAge is honored to be partnering with Integrace to continue Ellen’s vision of elevating awareness of the need for improved support for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their care partners.
LeadingAge is an association of 6,000 not-for-profit organizations dedicated to making America a better place to grow old. We advance policies, conduct research, and promote practices that support, enable and empower people to live fully as they age. The LeadingAge promise: Inspire. Serve. Advocate.
Who does the Gala Benefit?
Proceeds from the event are equally distributed between the LeadingAge Dementia Innovations Fund, through which LeadingAge members can apply annually for grants, and the Integrace Institute at Copper Ridge for the creation and advancement of education and research initiatives.
